粘 zhān is the *verb* (to stick)
粘 nián is either the *adjective* (sticky) or describes the corresponding state (sticks)

Wow, thanks for all of your work in putting these menus together. I just started using the Google pinyin IME as opposed to the Microsoft built-in Windows one and like it. Even though I am such a novice in terms of characters, I can appreciate that it is "smarter" than the Windows IME in how it makes use of the many thousands of chunks of characters Google has acquired via their search engine. At first I was wondering where it actually was after installation and then realized it hooks into Windows itself in the language bar. Once in Chinese mode，a small menu with icons pops into the system tray. It's still available for download at tools.google.com/pinyin/ despite the ongoing squabble about using Sogou's dictionary. EVERY menu is in Chinese of course and I don't believe an English version exists. There is a nice walk-through of translations with tooltips at:

If anyone is so inclined, would you want to translate some of the more in-depth help pages? The Google 'Translate this page' option is pretty clunky.

Ok, so I asked hubby if I could install Firefox on HIS computer, and he said "Absolutely!". "Can I install it in Chinese?"... also "Absolutely, my dearest love!".

Here's the hard part. The install looks like pus. I have no idea what I'm looking at because a) I can't read much hanzi, and b) I don't read any of the random ascii nonsense it threw at me. Looks like a hex dump with radio buttons. :( Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You mean on the installation wizard? It did that for me as well, if you reinstall the English version first and remember which buttons you used it should work. To get the installation dialogues to display properly you need to change the language for non-unicode programs to Chinese I think.

I was actually breaking one of my own rules by installing it that way. So I've installed English for now, so I can get used to the product.

I'd never even heard of Firefox before I came to CPOD, now I don't know how I would live without it! Pages display correctly! Plugins are too easy! Thank you for the red hot tip. :)
