How to use traditional chinese keyboard

Suggested Difficulty (Elementary etc): Elementary__

Lesson Idea: Hi @Constance_Fang and Team,

This might only be of interest to a limited circle within the ChinesePod community. However when I came to Taiwan, I noticed that my gf was using a completely different, not Pinyin related way, of typing traditional Chinese into her phone. Here is a picture of how it might look like:

Would it be possible, that you outline in an episode how to use this keyboard?

Greetings,

Niels

Hi Niels,

Thank you for the interesting suggestion!
The keyboard method you mentioned is called “Zhuyin” input, as know as “Bopomofo”. It’s a phonetic system mainly used in Taiwan, while “Hanyu Pinyin” is the predominant system in mainland China. Since both of them are based on the same Mandarin pronunciations, there’s a one-on-one correspondence between two systems.
