Hi Guys. Could we have a lesson thingy on ‘things’. The thing is there seems to be a number of different Chinese ‘thing’ words and I’m sure I’m using the ‘things’ incorrectly. Things, ooops sorry, I mean thanks

that is a very interesting question, I will try to explain this ,hope can help you.
“thing” can indicate "东西 or 事情“ in Chinese, but "东西” means directions and all objects. for example: 吃东西，玩东西，买东西。
“事情” means all the activities in life. for example, 我有很多事情要做（I have many things need to be done). 我要告诉你一件事情I have something to tell you).
"事物“ means all the activities and objects exist in life.
