It’s annoying to have an English explanation at the advanced level when mandarin can be used to explain a concept or vocabulary. I find myself getting irritated with the redundant English explanations.

I agree with you. I think even in the lower levels there’s too much (unnecessary) English. It’s not my mother tongue and if I want to learn English there are better places. 
I realy like Chinesepod a lot, but I didn’t renew my quarterly premium subscription exactly because of this. I hope the future team wil work on this.

Agreed. I think in at least one similar product they start talking ~90% in Chinese by approximately the intermediate level, so it should be doable
