Qing Wen - when to use nong 弄

Lesson Idea: Hi @Constance_Fang and Team,

I’d love a Qing Wen on the use of 弄， while I have an intuitive idea of how it is used (when something is lost, broken or becomes dirty, it functions as the equivalent of ‘make’, kind of). I have the sense that the usual use is 負面的意思, but I’d love a more thorough explanation than my intuitive (as probably not quite correct) grasp of it’s use, including situation where it has 積極的意思.

Hi Matt, I think Chinese character “弄” “ 搞”， can match or replace multiple words, just like “do and have”.

Hi Matt,

What a great suggestion! 弄 does have other neutral meanings! For example,
弄鴿子 (弄鸽子) [nòng gēzi] to play with pigeons
弄點水來 (弄点水来) [nòng diǎn shuǐ lái] get some water
