What does “己所不欲 勿施于人” mean?

Can anyone please help me understand what “已所不欲 勿施于人” mean? Really appreciate that.

Excellent question! 已所不欲 勿施于人 originates from Confucius and is used often in diplomacy and in politics. It loosely translates to "what you don’t like yourself, do not impose on others.

Or in other words: 请别人做事之前要先考虑你自己是不是愿意这么做。自己不愿意的事情，就不应该强迫别人。
